Equity Is Built Here
WEBAD is an Atlanta-based nonprofit working at the intersection of community knowledge and public health expertise. We advocate, connect, and work alongside people and communities navigating systems that were not always built with them in mind.
Who We Are
Equity does not happen on its own. It takes sustained effort, genuine relationships, and a willingness to listen before acting.
WEBAD, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. We were founded on the belief that communities already hold the wisdom they need. Our role is to help create the conditions where that wisdom can lead. We bring together public health knowledge, community advocacy, and practical support to work alongside people and communities across a range of health and social equity focus areas.
We show up with honesty, humility, and a commitment to doing this work the right way.
Our Work
WEBAD is equipped to support community-centered programs, partnerships, and initiatives across six areas of focus. Each reflects deep expertise, a values-driven framework, and genuine readiness to engage.
Community Advocacy and Local Leadership Strong communities need strong voices. WEBAD supports the development of local leadership and helps community members build the skills, knowledge, and confidence to advocate for themselves and their neighbors.
Harm Reduction and Community Care Harm reduction is more than a set of practices. It is a way of showing up. We apply a harm reduction lens across all of our work, meaning we meet people where they are, lead with dignity, and prioritize practical, nonjudgmental support. This philosophy shapes how we approach behavioral health, maternal health, youth and family support, and community wellness.
Maternal, Family, and Behavioral Health Every person deserves care that sees the whole of who they are. WEBAD is positioned to support work that addresses the interconnected needs of mothers, families, and individuals navigating behavioral health challenges, with an emphasis on dignity, access, and community-informed approaches.
Youth and Community Engagement Young people and families are not the future of community health. They are part of it right now. WEBAD is equipped to support programs and partnerships that engage youth and families as active participants in shaping the health and well-being of their communities.
Peer Navigation and Resource Connection Sometimes the most meaningful support comes from someone who has been there. WEBAD is positioned to support peer navigation models that help people find and access the resources, services, and care they need, with guidance from people who understand the journey firsthand.
Community Learning and Shared Accountability Good community work should be understood, reflected on, and learned from over time. WEBAD is committed to supporting a culture of honest learning and shared accountability within the communities and organizations we work alongside.
Why WEBAD
WEBAD offers something that is not easy to find: rigorous public health expertise grounded in genuine community rootedness.
Our founder's background spans public health research, mixed-methods and qualitative evaluation, maternal and behavioral health, harm reduction, facilitation, and community-centered program design. That expertise lives inside WEBAD and shapes how we approach every partnership, every project, and every conversation.
We are a focused organization with a clear orientation. We do not overcommit. We build relationships carefully, engage honestly, and bring the same standards of rigor and respect to every partnership we take on.
We are not here to parachute in with ready-made answers. We are here to listen, learn, and build something that actually works for the people it is meant to support.
Our Approach
We believe the best community health work starts with listening, not prescribing.
Listen first. We start by understanding the community, not assuming we already do.
Connect with purpose. We build relationships rooted in trust and oriented toward action.
Design with, not for. Programs and partnerships work best when the people they are meant to support have a genuine role in shaping them.
Learn continuously. We bring an evaluation mindset to everything we do, because learning is part of doing this work well.
Advocate consistently. We speak up for the people and communities at the center of this work, in rooms where decisions are made and in spaces where their voices need to be heard.
